Five Favs on Friday {First Edition}

One:

This week not only did I get my ladies league golf time in, but I got my hair done, and my lashes filled. Sometimes a momma just needs some time her herself! If you haven't looked into lash extensions I highly recommend it! I have no makeup on my eyes except a quick brush of mascara on the bottom lashes! I sent out a quick snap chat survey to some of my most trusted ladies on whether I should stick with blonde again or phase back to the auburn and I overwhelming got a blonde response. Wah Wah. I did however rebel sneak in some redish pieces throughout.

Two:

Where I come from we mostly have Caribou Coffee instead of Starbucks but you can get this anywhere. If you're the type that likes a stronger coffee with just a bit of sweet this drink is for you! It's super low in calories as well! It's an iced americano with a splash of cream and a half shot of caramel (or whatever flavor you like). I might of had a couple this week so far.

Three:

I don't know about any of you but I'm still a little bitter over Miranda and Blake's break up. As you can tell from pictures of my husband and I, I had really been gunning to get us to go as Miranda and Blake for Halloween one year. Hello sequin mini skirt and cowboy boots! I've always been a huge Miranda fan and her new song does not disappoint!

Four:

I just so happen to have a best friend that takes amazing pictures :) Dixie got her one year pictures back and I am so in love, especially with the impromptu picture of her and Elliot. I love being a girl momma!

Five:

Three years ago our family started a little golf championship competition. My mom and dad vs. my sisters and me and our husbands. My parents got a little cocky after their initial win the first year and had a little trophy made up. Well this bad boy has been at our house for two sweet years now. Tomorrow morning bright and early we have to defend it. Now we are definitely the under dogs this year, my parents have been practicing like non other. So wish us luck!

Six:

I know I know I'm so sorry, it's supposed to be only five favorites, no one has ever accused me of being quiet. I've been sipping some Absolut Raspberri with lemonade and it is the most refreshing with a touch a sweet drink that was just made for summer time! Definitely worth a try!

These five on Friday posts are probably my favorite ones to read! I feel like I have found so many great products from these types of posts! Not to mention what is better than writing about a bunch of your favorite things! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo

Where To Begin

Four years ago I needed something to fill my time other than watching my ankles swell up to the size of thighs while I was eight months pregnant in the hottest summer possible here in Minnesota. I was young, naive, and oh so lazy. I stumbled across two blogs and my addiction grew from there. I read countless blogs on pregnancies and births. I loved having that knowledge at my finger tips and loved reading about other people's lives even more. Labor Day (how funny) of 2012 I welcomed sweet little Elliot and my life felt like it now had an actual meaning to it. Long story short... which I'm sure I'll elaborate on more down the road, I became a healthier and happier version of myself. So much has changed in the last four years. What I look back on most though is how little I remember from Elliot's younger years. I have the pictures because I am obsessed an active instagram/facebook picture poster, but I don't remember much of the details. So as I'm reading these blogs, I can't help but think of all these memories they can easily look back on. So here I am, almost four years with Elliot and over a year with Dixie and I think I might give this blogging a little bit of a go. I've been known to talk a bit, so this should be right up my alley.

Here are some quick tidbits about me :

  • Family comes first. I am extremely close to my parents and two older sisters.
  • Being a momma was my life calling.
  • I was born in Iowa, lived in Arizona, but grew up in Minnesota and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
  • I have a degree in Agricultural Finance and could do math for fun
  • My husband often refers to me as a yuppie (duck dynasty)
  • Every year I surprise him more and more by being just a little more outdoorsy and small town
  • There is nothing I love more than a Sunday spent shnuggled on the couch in front of the fireplace watching football.
  • I try to be fashionable, just to change into sweatpants the moment I get home
  • I do really well working out/eating for a month then do bad for two
  • As you can see from my blog picture, I'm a wanna be red head, I just keep getting told I'm better off as my natural blonde.

I do think that is enough rambling for now, but I can't wait to see what this blog turns into, and if it ends up with no readers but a focal point of memories to look back on my heart will be full.
