What's Up Wednesday {5.31.2017}

I wish these were weekly! Seriously I love reading through these posts and so fun to look back at!

{1} WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
Monday: The hubby loves to use his smoker any chance he gets, so we fixed a gigantic pork shoulder roast and it was amazing!
Tuesday: I did an Isagenix cleanse for the first time ever. Any of you guys do Isagenix? I've used a few of their products for two years now here and there and I do like some of them (and don't like some) but I decided to pull the trigger on a cleanse because I've just been in a rut eating wise and not getting anywhere with my fitness even though I'm working out five times a day and trying to eat semi decent. The cleanse went better than expected to be honest, I don't know how much different I feel? So we will do it one more time in a week or two and see!
Wednesday: I'm going to make a burrito bowl with some left over smoked pork! I don't know why but recently pico is my jam! I hate tomatoes too! It must be the garlic and onions. So I'm going to pick some of that up at the store with some fresh hot jalapenos! I need to find a good pico homemade recipe for this summer to fix with the garden goods!
Thursday: It is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous out after having about two weeks of horrible weather! I don't care what we have as long as it is grilled! I'm leaning towards wings! Gold n' plump wingettes are the best to grill!
Friday: We are heading camping! I am fixing up some burgers and sandwich items for some grilled pie iron sandwiches! Speaking of burgers, I saw one of these posts had a link back to Shay's grilled peach burgers and I'm sooooo intrigued I feel like I have to try them now!

{2} WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Lately Elliot has been such a sass, such a sass. She is far too much like me. Whoops! But I've been reminiscing about when she used to not talk so much smack back. She's already such a teenager. But her love and kindness for people is so fierce and I'm glad that will never change! She even got an award at school for being such a nice person!

{3} WHAT I'M LOVING:
I just did a Stella and Dot trunk show and I cannot wait to order my goods! Seriously they have amazing stuff! Go check it out. I'm dying for a small clutch for a cute night out! Also all the bright colors lately! Check out this clutch!

{4} WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
I feel like we have not been doing anything in particular but we have just been so busy. The end of the school season is killer and I don't even have kids in actual school yet! What the heck! We did two weeks of four day swim lessons. So for two weeks it was Monday: Gymnastics and Swim, Tuesday: I have golf and Elliot had swim, Wednesday: Swim, Thursday: Ballet and swim! It was a killer! Lets just say the house looked like a bomb went off, I was so backed up on laundry, and we hadn't ate a real meal in a while. Is this what life is like when they are older? Please say no because I like my happy hour and family dinners! Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks!

Elliot and I in the garage waiting for the rain to quit so we can finish planting flowers!

Elle was determined to plant flowers even though it was still raining!

In the summer our church has it's service outside at a bible camp. It is gorgeous setting right on the lake. We are so happy the services are back!!!

We had some good weather one day last weekend and J and I sat outside on the deck with the new fire pit. This is such a good example of us ha ;)

Piggy tails for life!

Testing out Grammy and Papa's new pontoon!

Elliot's last day of preschool was a beach day!

Presents for the teachers!

Like I said earlier, no real dinner we were so busy, so many goldfish consumed.

Dixie and Papa shnuggling

Elliot got a new car seat in my mom's vehicle. I still refuse to put her in a non-harness one yet, she's almost five. I mean I just can't. Anyone else feel that way?

Three day weekends allow for slow mornings with fun breakfast!

{5} WHAT I’M DREADING:
Seriously nothing. I made a goal to just be happy about 6 years ago and that is literally how I live my life. I just try to see the best in everything. If not there is always wine ;)

{6} WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Dixie's birthday party details! She is doing a Mickey Mouse "twodooles" birthday party! There are so many cute ideas out there! So far I've decided on a Hot Diggity Dog bar! I mean so fun right?!?!?

{7} WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Camping! We have two trips under our belt and we have one this weekend, next weekend I'm camping/golfing with some of my best girl friends, and the weekend after that we are camping with three different family friends that all have kids around the same age! Super excited!

{8} WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
Reading, notta. Watching, eh sometimes Twins Baseball. Mostly continuously browsing the internet for camping locations. I mean I'm addicted to checking them all out! I love seeing the different venues. Oh and pinterest stalking Mickey parties! I'm so lame I go to bed by 9 most nights and that leaves very little time to read/watch anything which honestly I'm okay with for now!

{9} WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Florida Georgia Line, Nelly, Backstreet Boys, and Sam Hunt! I will be seeing them all in concert this summer! Super excited! Also pretty into Chris Stapleton lately!

{10} WHAT I’M WEARING:
I got a ton of new clothes but I haven't taken any pictures! I was loving the warm weather but the last two weeks have been FREEZING! Super windy and lower 50's and clouds. So many clouds. So no cute clothes for me, just trying to stay warm! Summer where are you?!?!

{11} WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
Camping!!! The spot we have supposedly has a lake view and I'm pretty excited to bring the hammock and sit back and relax!

{12} WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
June! My littlest baby turns two! I can't believe it. She's such a peanut though so it just doesn't seem like it! We will have her party the 30th so my grandparents can be there for the holiday weekend too!

{13} WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Dixie started both Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy to help her get caught up, like I said she will be two next month and still not walking, though she is taking steps behind a stroller! So we are hoping that some good therapy sessions can help her get caught up. This has been such a huge learning curve and GIFT for me. I'm such a get it done pronto person and her being behind has really taught me patience and putting effort into something. Most of my life everything has came pretty easy, I'm not going to lie, so this has been a gift for me. Lots of hard work and I know Dixie will be caught up with all the kids her age!

Bonus question this month: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE VACATION SPOT?
Shocking, but camping. Seriously anyone that knows me/knew me growing up will just laugh. I'm not an outdoorsy person whatsoever, but I honestly just love camping. It is more glamping than anything though ;) But truly Minnesota is just so beautiful. I love seeing it all!

Friday Favorites + Mother's Day!

Last weekend was unbelievably nice! So sunny, no wind and temps in the upper 70's. Tomorrow we are supposed to get an inch of rain and have a high of 43 degrees with huge winds. WHATTTTTTTT! No say it isn't so! Looking back on these pictures from last weekend only make it harder to deal with this weekend forecast! But I guess I just better put my big girl panties on and handle it!

{1} Mother's Day Weekend.

We went camping at the most adorable resort outside of Brainerd. If you're from the Minnesota area I highly suggest Sullivan's Resort! The lake it is on is super sandy and shallow so the beach was perfect with a gigantic playground right next to it. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub as well! Talk about glamping! We are strongly considering a seasonal there next year. Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Miss Dixie standing and walking the bench!!!

Elliot playing in the sand with red solo cup toys!

Dixie lounging around!

 Love these two!

 Boat time!

This lake had some amazing sand bars on it! I could see this as being a pretty fun adult spot!

When we weren't out and about the girls sat and relaxed here and colored or played. It was just the perfect spot! Also this is our "camper" it is a fish house too for the winter!

Elliot is so crazy, I can't get enough!

{2} Mock Family Pictures

J always gets so annoyed that I constantly want to take family pictures with the self timer. But I seriously cherish these pictures so much! I might even like the out take better ;)

{3} Dixie Walked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well kind of! But honestly this is the first time she's taken steps without holding someones hands! So exciting!!!! Both her PT and OT were amazed with the progress she has made on her own over the last month since they saw her in between getting everything finalized!

{4} Alright everyone in their mom keeps talking about this makeup! I finally tried it! Seriously, there is a reason everyone rants and raves about it. Unreal. It brightened up my eyes so much!!!!

{5} Elle the Crazy Lady

For reconfirmation of her being crazy, this is a memory I never want to forget. We had her screening for Kindergarten (which isn't for another year, but they kept hounding us since she is four) and we were a little early, so she unbuckled from her car seat and I was trying to find a present online so I was looking at my phone, I look over and here is Elliot. Elliot got in the passenger seat, buckled up, crossed her legs, put my sunglasses on and started reading my book. I laughed so hard. Oh and her screening, it went awesome! I know I brag about Elliot a lot, but its so true, she is so so so smart and so caring!

{6} I might starting throwing in a meme I send my husband every week. Seriously he must just shake his head when he gets them. But they are so true!

Seriously, I'm all about living that happy life.
Thanks again to these bloggers for setting up the Friday Favorites! I love reading them all!!!

Friday Favorites

Heyo! It's already another Friday and I couldn't be more excited. This week kicked my butt! Sunday allergies hit hard and I was down for the count, pair that with a cold and I was not in great shape all week. Monday I tried to do something about the allergies and took a benadryl, boy that was a mistake! I've never taken it before. I pretty much got to work and had to go straight home to pass out for four hours after a good 10 hours of sleep the night before. It was awful. I'm finally starting to feel a little bit better and just in time for Walleye fishing opener weekend and our fun camping trip! First lets show some of my favorites from the last week!

{1} Margaritas for Cinco De Mayo! This mix I picked up at target and it was fantastic! Not too sugary and not bad for you! It made some delicious margaritas!

{2} Speaking of Cinco De Mayo the weather was PERFECT! We do what we always do, hang out in the front yard red neck style. Here are some snap shots from the night. My best friend brought her little boy and Dixie and he ate frozen blueberries which was so messy adorable! The picture of Dixie and J just melts my heart!

{3} The weather has been so fantastic we have been living it up outside every day! Who doesn't want to practice their ballet in the yard in front of an audience!

{4} I live in hats, specifically Nike golf hats for the most part, but regardless I wear hats a lot! Elliot wears one anytime we are outside in the summer and also while swimming. We finally got one on Dixie and she kept it on for the most part. It was Elliot's first hat and I can't even handle it! Please take note of the redneck layout in the driveway ;)

{5} Day Date! J and I went with a bunch of others for a four wheeler/side by side ride. We put on 70 miles and stopped at a couple places/bars along the way. It was SO much fun! Even though the dust kicked up so bad it was a great day out! Sometimes you forget how pretty it is where you live!

{5+} Bonus favorite! We picked up this gas fire pit for the deck and I see many nights relaxing in front of this! Elliot even fixed her first smore over it! Hello sweet sweet summertime!

{6} Oops, I forgot I have one more.... I might of sent this to J mid week. Like I said this week was brutal!

I love looking back at these posts! It's so fun linking up!  I also really love reading everyone's! Thanks for stopping bye and have a fantastic weekend!

Friday Favorites {Snapshots of the Girls}

I seriously love a good Friday Favorites, but I decided this Friday I would talk about two of my favorites, Elliot and Dixie! I love looking back and seeing a little view of what they were like at a certain age. I'm linking up with these ladies and can't wait to read through all the Friday Favorites! Oh one last thing, for all you ladies that had the S Town Podcast as a favorite, thanks for that! I listened to it on my way down and back from Iowa and was HOOKED! I even went back to the first season of Serial. My life has been changed!

Elliot {4 years, 8 months}
{1} Elliot is in a rough patch sleeping. The girl just wants to shnuggle. I know this is mostly my fault, but how can you deny a shnuggle. She will fall asleep perfectly if you let her fall asleep by you on the couch, sometimes she wakes up when we move her to the bed and then that is an issue, sometimes she doesn't. I would have to say this is mine and J's first big parenting disagreement. I'm more laid back where I'm like well this won't last forever, who cares and he is more she needs to sleep in her own bed. We go back and forth about it. But for now, I seriously can't get enough of the shnuggles!

{2} Home girl LOVES to sing. She #cantstop #wontstop. I love it! Lately she has been very much into the sound tracks from Sing and Beauty and the Beast!

{3} She is starting to get just a wee bit sassy and picking up on things from other kids at preschool. Yesterday she called J a jerk when he told her not to let our dog in because it was nice out and he should run around. Needless to say the girl went straight to bed. Where do they learn these things?! My goodness. She also is starting to get semi self conscious about her outfits which breaks my heart because she always has had her own style. Thankfully I tell her that she should wear whatever she wants.... most days ;) Here are some of her best ones yet!

{4} Elliot continues to be the best big sister around. She adores Dixie and will do anything to make her laugh. She also continuously encourages her to work on standing and bear crawling!

{5} Every time we ask Elliot what she would like for dinner she goes mac and cheese, pizza, peanut butter and jelly, in that order. That girl could live off those three items. I mean couldn't we all?!?! She also cannot survive the morning without her "monkey milk" for those of you with picky eaters look at this to add some vitamins to their diet!

Dixie { 22 months)
{1} Dixie got her little ankle braces about a week and a half ago and she's really doing well in them! She is standing better and feeling more confident. I'm really hoping these help her walk before two years old!

{2} Her vocab is really starting to come together! She doesn't exactly say the words but she's pretty good at saying please, Elliot, up, down, night night, bye bye, hi, and a ton of others! The world Elliot she is so proud of. I love hearing her say it! She loves her sister more than anything! She also lets Elliot pick out her outfits sometimes ;)

{3} With her delay in talking (honestly I really don't think its much of a delay) we have been working on sign language. Holy smokes is she smart, she catches up on it right away! So far we have more, all done, and thank you! I'm thinking we work on milk and please next!

{4} Dixie is offically over 20 lbs! What a peanut! She is going through a little spurt where she doesn't love to eat, but right now her favorites are apple sauce, string cheese, and ranch with a side of cucumber ha!

{5} This girl gives the best hugs and kisses. They can't make you melt!
