What's Up Wednesday {3.29.2017}

It's time for one of my favorite posts! Seriously I get so many good ideas from this and the Friday post!

{1} WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
The hubby is gone for a couple days and that means I grill me a spicy chicken breast, swiss cheese on it, and a big side of veggies. I could have this every meal! J says its boring. I love it! Besides that I have a super huge craving for some pasta right now. I don't eat it very often but we may just have to have it tonight! Also made french dips from left over prime rib and Jimmy John's bread! The best!

{2} WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Last summer! Its finally getting a little nice out and I keep thinking about all the fun things we do in the summer including staying up way too late each night playing outside. These pictures of the girls from last year just kills me!

{3} WHAT I'M LOVING:
Yesterday's weather was amazing and it looks like it is here to stay! Also it seems like we are finally turning the corner on Elliot's horrible sleep schedule. About six months to a year ago she started waking up six times a night to try and sleep with us. We moved her into Dixie's room and turned her old room into a giant play room. Winner winner chicken dinner!

{4} WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
We took our first camping trip of the season up to the North Shore. I'll do more on it later but it was SO fun. I'm constantly amazed with how beautiful Minnesota is!

{5} WHAT I’M DREADING:
Two things. I usually don't dread things, I always try to stay positive. We got Elliot's bill from getting plastic out of her nose and they charged $5,800!!! We weren't even there for half a day! I'm dreading paying that, luckily we met our deductible but we still have to pay a ton! Also Dixie has been going through a screening process to get going on some therapy as she's behind both gross motor wise and speech. The sweet lady doing the evaluation (we are about half way through) is calling me today to let me know what she's seeing so far and how Dixie is scoring. I'm dreading that conversation, I just hate that anything is difficult for my baby. She's so happy and SO healthy, but I know I can't keep putting these delays on the back burner.

{6} WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
More quality time with the girls! I'm really trying to make my time after work with them count. Also still working on that health and fitness! Four months in! I haven't lost much but I can tell I'm losing inches. Though I just did eat a girl scout cookie. Its all about balance right?!?!

{7} WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
A couple weeks from now we will be sitting pool side once again with the most amazing grammy and papa!

{8} WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
Sports! Between March Madness and The Minnesota Wild! Our hockey team was doing so well, then about a month ago they just went into the crapper! Hoping the get better. Four days till Minnesota Twins start again! YAY!!!

{9} WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
We have a regular rotation of Moana, Trolls, Sing, and a princess mix in the car. I'm not going to lie I don't hate it. Also always a little hot country playlist on spotify. Have you heard the new Tim McGraw and Faith Hill song? Personally I think it is just awful. Seriously, what happened to those two? They are both such great singers, pull it together!

{10} WHAT I’M WEARING:
Junk. Seriously pure junk. Momma needs a shopping spree! I think I'll hit up all my favorites while I'm in Florida! I need some spring clothes!

{11} WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
We have a very low key weekend! I hope to do a little spring cleaning, our basement is destroyed with toys. I need to donate a bunch! We are getting together with a couple friends we haven't seen in a while and the weather is supposed to be fantastic!

{12} WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
Look above.... but also hello Easter!  Its so fun to teach Elliot all about Easter and of course give them all sorts of spring goodies in their baskets. We are dwindling down our chalk and bubble supply! We are also obsessed with Disney Animator mini dolls. Santa brought a bunch for the girls. Perfect size for Dixie's little hands and Elliot loves playing with them as well! Rumor has it Grammy's Easter Basket has the new Moana one!

{13} WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Nothing! Seriously I feel like we are busy all the time, but with nothing particular. Though we stay plenty busy with Gymnastics, Dance, and Swim Lesson's start soon!

Bonus question this month: What is your favorite spring thing to wear?
Spring? What's that? We are just starting to see the nice weather! I can't wait to bust out some wedges! I better schedule a pedi!

{Show and Tell Tuesday} Five Favorite Pictures... times 3 ;)

I had such a hard time picking out which pictures to use! I narrowed it down to 15 ;) ha! Lets just say I take WAY too many pictures. I love it!

{1} This is my favorite picture from our wedding. I seriously love everything about it. We got married at the golf course I grew up on and still golf there today!

{2} This picture is from the day we got home from the hospital. I remember putting it into black and white because I thought it would hide the massive amount of puffiness I had going on. I was so swollen with Elliot. But I remember taking this picture and just feeling beautiful almost even though I was so swollen. The moment I had Elliot something in me changed and I became just the happiest version of myself. I always said I was meant to be a mom, not that I wasn't happy before I truly was, but it completed me.

{3} This will always be my favorite picture of Elliot.

{4} This is when we first went to Disney with Elliot. She was way too young and we only did Hollywood Studios that year. She loved Disney Junior. We waited to see Sofia and I was sure she would get scared. She ran up and gave her the biggest hug. I love everything from this, from the hug, to the diaper booty, to her being on her tip toes.

{5} The summer before I got pregnant right before Elliot turned two we golfed together as a family all the time. We brought snacks and we would bring her little seat and strap it right to the golf cart. We had the best time! She even got to put on the greens if it was slow!

{6} This family picture we had taken is one of my favorites. The way Elliot was grabbing us is so her. Such a lover.

{7} Elliot and I when I was super pregnant. We loved that belly and all the sitting/resting/table it provided ;)

{8} Our first family of four picture. Elliot was SO excited to have a little sister. Can you tell?!

{9} Elliot's first sports photo. Tear.

{10} Our first camping trip as a family! This picture of Jason and Elliot with the sun peaking through melts my heart! It was the best trip!

{11} Dixie's one year pictures :)

{12} Elliot as a flower girl for the first time!

{13} The girls Santa picture from 2016!

{14} A little family snap shot on the first day of 2017!

{15} The two best friends you ever did have :) So thankful for these girls.

Whoopsie! It's been over a month!

It's been well over a month since I last blogged! Who knew time could get away from you so fast?! I really want to keep up with this to look back at. Not to mention I love connecting and getting fantastic ideas from all the blogging mommas out there!

What have we been up to the last month?!?! Take a look!

We went to Eel Pout and had the best time ever! I will say I'm not young anymore ;) I couldn't wait to get home! But it was such a fun time and made you remember what it was like before you had kids. How are we still alive?!?!

Elliot has been really into fighting me for her outfit choices. Of course hers are cow"girl" boots, two tu-tus, two shirts, and no pants. Sometimes that just doesn't fly. I will say I do let her chose her outfits a bit. But this day, I wanted her to wear her overalls. She was DEVASTATED. It might not look like it in the picture, but man her life was over. Something along the lines of everyone will make fun of this all jean outfit. HA! How adorable did she look?!?!

We can't forget our trips to the Sugar Shack. Seriously it gets us every single time. Dixie might have to start getting her own cone too!

Elliot has had a super stinky smell coming from her nose/mouth for about two months. I thought it was bad breath, I thought I was this awful mom that wasn't brushing her teeth good enough. Turns out the smell was coming from her nose. So after a couple trips to the doctor we realized she had something stuck up her nose. So the doctor had asked if she had stuck anything up her nose lately... well 9 months ago she did get a straw wrapper stuck in her nose, but she threw up and cried and cried and we figured it was out. She never complained she said it wasn't in there. I kind of nervously giggled and was like it couldn't be up there for 9 months. Well what do you know, it actually can! So it was causing an infection up there. So we had to get it out. This is where it got bad again, we just figured they could get it out at the office. Nope, she had to get put under. I'm telling you this was HORRIBLE. So so so awful. I probably cried all day long, even after she was back to her normal self. I never want to see her scared like that again. Elliot milked it for all she could and we gladly let her. I'm happy to say her nose isn't smelly anymore!

We had some absolutely fantastic weather for a week. I'm talking almost 70 degrees. We spent as much time outside as we could. Which was good because its been low 30's since then! Now this week should be mid 50's and I can't even tell you how excited we are! Hello outdoors all day long!

We regularly participate in crazy hair. There is nothing we can do about Elliot's. Its so insane. But Dixie has this perfect straight soft hair. Until she woke up this morning with the craziest ever!

Every year my brother in law hosts a March Madness first day all day activity at Buffalo Wild Wings. You seriously sit at Buffalo Wild Wings all day long and eat and drink and watch basketball. It is so fantastic! We take the day off work every year! Can you tell we are sisters ;)

We went and saw Beauty and the Beast. If you haven't seen it GO NOW! Seriously it was sooooo great. The singing and visuals were unreal! We both loved it. I might of even teared up a couple times out of complete happiness I was able to take my baby to this movie that I love so dearly.

Dixie has had a couple evaluations lately to see if she can qualify for some in home physical therapy. She is delayed Gross Motor wise and I think for speech as well. We have known she has low muscle tone for a while and that it will just take her a little longer to get up to speed gross motor wise. But we decided to start going through the process to get her into PT. Dixie has made huge progress over the last month but still her poor little ankles have zero support. So we got some high top shoes and hopefully until PT that offers a little more support. How cute is this girl?!?!

Also speaking of this girl. I was looking in her mouth to see if her molars were progress anymore and realized that all her teeth had like grey plaque at the top line but her gums. I started to completely freak out. Question whether I brush her teeth good enough, questioning my parenting skills. I was a basket case. We got her in and it just turns out the high amounts of iron we have in our water since we have well water can do that to some peoples teeth. I feel so much better. But seriously look for yourself, wouldn't you freak out?!

I think that is all I have for now but I plan on writing one big long post about our recent mini family vacay to Duluth, MN! It was BEAUTIFUL!
