What's Up Wednesday!

This is my first What's Up Wednesday post! I'm so excited because they are pretty much my favorite to read!

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
Sunday we were in Brainerd so we decided to hit up costco because it clearly has the best deals and produce! So we are well stocked for a while!
  • Monday: Pork chops and green beans. Do you shop at costco? If so they have these skinny green beans in the produce room. TO DIE FOR! So good! Get them now. Also it has been really really warm here lately. Like 56 and we are usually mid twenties! So we have been grilling as much as possible!
  • Tuesday: Stuffed red peppers. These are so easy and so delish. I did this recipe but did rice instead of quinoa since I didn't have it on hand and added ground beef!
  • Wednesday: We got heart shaped pasta at costco for sale because it is past Valentine's day and we will fix that!
  • Thursday: I think Elliot has a nose polyp.... anyone ever had this issue? So we have a late last minute doctor appointment and I'm thinking we will swing through somewhere on the way home
  • Friday - Sunday: Momma and Daddy are on a kid free, friend filled fest!

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
The last year of ice fishing and camping. Now for those of you not familiar with ice fishing, its pretty much a camper on ice. No lie. Well when we first got ours we didn't know how much we would use it so we got a base model knowing we could always upgrade. Well we pulled the trigger today and got us a bigger more camper style one! I've just been thinking about all the memories we have had in it and the ones to come! Here are some snap shots from it!

 Sitting in the fish house for the first time. Elliot testing it out!

 Elliot's first fish. Not excited about it!

Even - 20 degrees didn't keep us home!

Warming up to fishing. She looks like such a baby!

Last trip of the year up in Northern MN

First camping trip! Itasca State Park where the Mississippi River starts!

Black Hills in South Dakota in our hammock!

Hammock Relaxing!

First fishing trip of this season! New Years Day!

Dixie lounging!

Pretty view of the lake.

Last sunrise of the fishing season!

3: WHAT I'M LOVING:
This warm weather! Seriously GORGEOUS weather! It's like it's pretty much summer. Except next week it will be 15 degrees and we will get a foot of snow. That is how MN winter works.

4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Lots of busy weekends! Last weekend at brainerd we had the best time ever! Check out my loves at the pool!

5: WHAT I’M DREADING:
I need to pack for the girls to be at my sisters all weekend and then pack for Jason and I. I hate packing, and I always wait till last minute, and I always forget something. Last weekend I didn't pack socks for Jason. Whoops! He told me I was fired from packing for him.... lets hope!

6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
My bod. Not what you meant with this? Well its my main focus right now! I've worked out 5 times a week at least for two months (minus our vacation) and I'm FINALLY starting to see results. If you like home videos check out Jillian Michael's 90 day body revolution. KILLER!

7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Two full days of pure adult fun time! We are going to an ice fishing tournament (aka party on ice) for real check it out. It's all about catching these huge ugly fish. But there are parties and bar tents and vendors all over the lake! I am so stoke to get some adult time with Jason and also hang out with all our close couple friends!

8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
Ok so I either read so hard that I fly through books and ignore anyone and everyone or I go months without reading. But I just jumped into this one that I have had forever and lets just say I'm rather intrigued. For a while Nicholas Sparks was getting a little too gushy mushy for me, it seems he brought back a little mystery/plot to this one and so far I love it!

9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
I always listen to Spotify this is Thomas Rhett. My fav! But this is almost embarrassing to admit but the other day I was running and singing so loud to Call Me Maybe but within fifteen minutes I was rapping Eminem. Jason came down and just laughed. What can I say, I like to mix it up!

10: WHAT I’M WEARING:
I've got to get back to snapping some outfit choices I make! Next time I'll be able to post some, but for now I'll leave you with what I haven't been wearing... a jacket! Holla!!!!!

11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

Just Kidding! That isn't me.... and I won't be kissing any fish... but that is a picture from the Eel Pout Festival!

12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
March Madness!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not a basketball watcher, but I am over the course of March Madness due to the fact that I am SO competitive and I definitely do brackets with family! The first day of March Madness my sister and her husband host an all day event at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the games and I take the day off for it and it is SO fun!

13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
 Absolutely nothing! I feel like we haven't done that much but its already almost March! Holy Cow! Ready for warm weather all the time!

xoxo,

Kristi

Friday Favorites!

WHOA! This week kicked my butt! Tuesday I was out at a meeting all day and the rest of the week just flew right bye!

{1}

You'll be finding me here this weekend! Not that it looks that great in the snow ;) But its going to be in the mid 50's which is pretty much 25 degrees above normal! There are SO many fun activities to do at this resort anywhere from a big pool, to bingo, to beer tasting, to build your own bloody mary bar. Count me in!

{2}

I love that I get pictures like this during the day. I'm so lucky my sister watches my girls :) I mean how cute is this little girl, we think she might be part elf!

{3}

Full hands full heart :) Love this picture, but besides the girls I just got this hat and I cannot get enough of it! How cute is it!!!!

{4}

These chips and dip from costco are SO amazing. Seriously you will not be disapointed. The dip is just a slight heat :)

{5}

To wash that snack down consider sipping on one of these beers. Seriously so good and so perfect for dreaming of spring!

That is all I have today but I hope you all have a great weekend. I can't wait for it! Three whole days too!

xoxo,
Kristi

Weekend Recap

How is it already Monday? I'm just baffled by this! Let's just start with saying it was a real rough Monday morning. I set my alarm for 4:45 which is 15 minutes earlier than normal. I knew I needed to wash my hair (am I the only one that puts this off till the LAST minute?), well Elliot was up a couple times in the middle of the night so when my alarm went off I shut it off and said nope, not going to workout this morning. I fell back asleep rolled over and saw 5:25 and kept thinking, never miss a Monday workout, never miss a Monday workout, and tried figuring out when I could squeeze it in later and I couldn't. So I got up and did a short 30 minute cardio workout. Guess who's hair didn't get washed? Guess who looks like a greasy rat today? Hey at least I'm bettering my health? So I got up at 5:30 and was out the door by 7:00 which meant working out, showering, getting ready, getting both girls ready, getting Elliot's lunch packed, and all in the car. Man bad choices I tell you. Next time I'm getting up at 4:45.

Friday I got a call about mid way through the day that Elliot just wasn't feeling like her self and that she had a bloody nose and a stuffy nose. Well I picked her up from preschool and work was swamped so she was stuck with me at the office. That girl, she was EXHAUSTED, but she refused to nap, she always refuses to nap. She also is on a boycott of sleeping in her own bed. If we make her sleep in her own bed she wakes up ever 30 minutes crying. Sometimes we let her sleep on her bedroom floor and she will make it a couple hours. If she sleeps with me, never wakes up, not even once. So frustrating! The weather was absolutely gorgeous Friday so when we got home I drug the girls out to the deck and we bundled up in the hammock and had snacks and read a magazine. It was fantastic!

 Saturday we were heading to a lake about an hour away to fish for the day and night but we took our sweet time getting ready to leave. Jason was already there. I love Saturday mornings where you can wake up, having some coffee and lay around with the kids before really getting up for the day. We did just that! Then I decided to get a quick workout in. I love Jillian Michael's workout DVDs. Seriously she kicks your butt in a very short amount of time. Well I've been doing her 90 day body revolution and got to a new level of her cardio DVD. I thought I was going to die, legit falling over during planks. My goodness. We got out on the lake and had a really relaxing day and even woke up to the prettiest sunrise before we headed home for a day full of cleaning YUCK!

After cleaning Elliot wanted to make some Valentine's Day cookies and we did just that to end or relaxing evening!

Just for fun here are a couple pictures of the girls this morning, Elliot ready for her Valentine's Day party and Dixie rocking the pink too!

Friday Florida Favorites

Man today has been more like a Monday than a Friday but here we are mere hours from the weekend! I cannot wait! This Friday I'm going to recap/give my favorites from our trip to Florida! I lovelinking up on Fridays!

{1}

My parents. They are gone six months a year and man I just don't know how people live away from their parents! We missed them so much and they spoiled us rotten. I'm so glad my girls get to be as close to my parents as they are!

{2}

Food at Disney! Okay food at Disney World is expensive but man the food we had was fantastic! We ate breakfast with the princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table. I'm not lying when I said you start with a platter of pastries, I didn't even get a good picture of them, but I do have one of Elliot where you can see them. Seriously DELICIOUS!
We ate dinner at Be Our Guest which is the only restaurant at Magic Kingdom that sells wine. Enter jazz hands and some hallelujahs! The atmosphere was unreal.  It was in the ball room and it was just so beautiful. Our food was fantastic. Dessert rolled around and Elliot chose one while we finished our wine and it was SO SO SO good, pretty much oreo puree on top and custard on the bottom all in a cookie crust. Well the next day my sister asked did you try the grey stuff it's delcious (AKA the song from Beauty and The Beast) and I'm so sad that I didn't realize I was eating the GREY STUFF! It really was delicious! Elliot was terrified of the Beast when we left but it was such a great place to eat!

{3}

Meeting the princesses! Elliot has met some of them before but it was so fun to watch her talk to them and get so excited. Her favorite are Rapunzel and Merida but she also got so excited to see Elena! She told Rapunzel that Merida was her second favorite and she told Merida she could shoot a bow and arrow like her. It was too cute. She also told Ariel she had a dingle hopper on her cake and they decided to dance over it. I mean seriously Elliot was just so excited the whole time! We loved it!

{4}

Pool time! Elliot is a little fish! She could be in the pool all day long! We also love sitting in the hot tub for hours! This was my chance to use my camera a little more as I'm trying to get better at taking pictures with it!

{5}

This isn't Florida related but what is a Friday's Favorites without a product! I've been dabbling with a couple different lipsense colors and I just love them! I am not usually a lipstick girl but this has been so fun to wear! Today I tried a reddish/pinkish color and I just love it! What do you think? It's B. Ruby!

It is so so so fun to get away every once in a while and I definitely needed the time to relax and enjoy some warmth and sunshine. Here are a couple more pictures from the trip!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I have a feeling ours will be pretty low key as Elliot got sent home from school because she was looking pretty exhausted and not feeling well... I bet it had nothing to do with her being up all night wanting to sleep with us ;)

xoxo,
Kristi

Thursday Thoughts

I absolutely love love love reading blogs about nothing in particular. Just every day life. I don't know what it is but I love it, I find great advice, products, better ways to parent, and even some fashion advice. I can't get enough. So here is a little randomness for Thursday, aka almost Fri-yay!

{1}

I am SO over political posts on Facebook. I tend to find myself a little bit in the middle when it comes to the left wing/right wing spectrum. I actually really enjoy listening to some close friends talk politics, mostly because they usually have different views and hearing different views I think makes you think just a little bit harder :) But lately, oh lately, Facebook has been full of just mean/nasty/lying/obnoxious political BS from both sides. When did we have to be so arrogant in our ways? It makes my heart so sad.

{2}

My alarm went off this morning to work out and I sat and looked at the ceiling for a good 3-5 minutes debating how to not workout without feeling guilty. Well I woke up and worked out and I feel fantastic. Well actually I feel like a 90 year old because I did my old arm workout yesterday and old leg workout this morning and I can barely function, but emotionally I feel good. I'm debating this workout tomorrow.... in case you're wondering my name is K ;) just kidding, but spelling out Kristi looks pretty brutal.

{3}

I am seriously making my life way harder than it needs to be. Elliot has learned how to work her magic with me. She wants to shnuggle all the time. Which I love, I'm a sucker for, but it's caused her not wanting to sleep in her own bed. I cannot remember the last time I slept through the night solid, and not because of our 19 month old. Photo evidence below:

{4}

I'm seriously day dreaming of spring right now. It was negative six, yes as in  minus six degrees this morning and it will warm up all the way to 43 tomorrow. Talk about a swing. I think you'll catch me sun bathing on the ice this weekend. I'm so ready for some bright clothes!

{5}

Speaking of bright clothes, does anyone find themselves buying bright clothes then always reaching for your neutral clothing? Or is that just me?

{6}

Do any of you listen to Spotify? If so can you give me some of your favorite playlists for working out! Pretty please? This morning I was working out to energizing classics and let me tell you, if someone saw me work out they would film it and put it on America's Funniest Home Videos. Lets just say I was busting out some YMCA in between shots squats.... wait whoa, not the weekend yet Kristi lets calm down ;)

I  cannot wait to photo dump some pictures tomorrow for Friday Favorites from our trip! There are some good ones in there! See you all tomorrow!

xoxo,
Kristi
